What do the project phases mean?
Dream, Plan, Budget, Quotes, Build, Complete: what each phase is for and when to move on.
Every project moves through six phases. You move it manually as your real-world work progresses.
1. Dream
The earliest phase: you know you want to do something but not the specifics yet. Use the Inspiration Gallery to gather ideas, save photos to boards, and start thinking about style.
2. Plan
You know roughly what you want. Use the Project Planner, check planning permission with the Planning Checker, read the Building Regulations Guide, and write to neighbours if needed.
3. Budget
Time to put numbers on the dream. Use the Cost Calculator to get an estimate range and the Scope of Works document. Set a working budget.
4. Quotes
Send the Scope of Works to contractors. Upload their quotes into Havnwright. Use Compare Quotes to see them side-by-side. Pick a contractor.
5. Build
Work is happening on site. Track photos of progress, log any snags, store contracts and certificates in the Document Vault, watch your budget vs actual spend.
6. Complete
Sign-off. Use the Completion Checklist, store final certificates and warranties, archive the project.
Moving between phases
Open your project, click the current phase chip at the top, and select a new one. There is no time pressure. Projects can sit in Plan for months while you save up. The phase is just a label for you (and us) to know what tools are most relevant.
