  • Material changes will be notified via email
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance

13. Subscriptions and Billing

Scope: Sections 13.1 to 13.9 apply only to contractor subscribers (users on Pro, Business, or Scale plans). Homeowner features on Havnwright are currently free, so most users will not have a subscription to manage.

13.1 Subscription Plans

Havnwright offers subscription plans for contractors: Free, Pro (from £19/month), and Business(from £39/month). A custom Scale plan is available for larger operations. Plan features, pricing, and limits are displayed in the app and on our website. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice.

13.2 Free Trial

New users receive a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan. No payment details are required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan unless you subscribe to a paid plan. Each user is entitled to one free trial only.

13.3 Auto-Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) at the then-current price, through your Apple App Store or Google Play account, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your app-store subscription settings.

13.4 Payment Processing

Contractor subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play as in-app purchases, managed on our side via RevenueCat. Apple or Google process your payment and hold your card details; we never see or store them. Prices are shown in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable, as calculated by the relevant app store.

13.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through:

  • Your Apple App Storesubscription settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) on iOS
  • Your Google Playsubscription settings (Play Store > Payments & subscriptions) on Android
  • Emailing support@havnwright.com if you need help

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to paid features until your current period expires. Refunds for app-store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies (see 13.6).

13.6 Cooling-Off Rights and Refunds

Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC Act), you have specific cancellation rights when you subscribe to one of our paid plans:

Initial cooling-off period

When you first subscribe to a paid plan, you have 14 days from the start of the subscription to cancel without penalty. If you cancel within this period, you are entitled to a full refund, or a proportionate refund reflecting any part of the service you have already used.

Renewal cooling-off period

After a free trial converts into a paid subscription, or after a subscription with a term of 12 months or more auto-renews, you have a further 14 days to cancel. If you cancel within this period, you are entitled to a full or proportionate refund. We will send you a cooling-off notice at each renewal cooling-off period explaining this right.

Outside the cooling-off periods

Subscriptions are otherwise non-refundable. However:

  • If you are charged in error (for example, a duplicate charge), we will issue a full refund.
  • If we discontinue a feature that was central to your plan, you may request a pro-rata refund for the unused portion.

How to exercise these rights

  • Cancel through your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or email support@havnwright.com and we will help
  • No reason is required and no penalty or charge will be imposed for cancellation within a cooling-off period
  • Refunds for app-store purchases are issued by Apple or Google to your original payment method; we will support any valid statutory refund request
  • After a refund, your account reverts to the Free plan

Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights under UK law.

13.7 Payment Failure

If a payment fails, we will retry up to 3 times over approximately 3 weeks. During this period, your subscription remains active but you will see a notice to update your payment method. If all retries fail, your subscription will be cancelled and your account will revert to the Free plan. Your data is retained and accessible on the Free plan, but premium features will be locked.

13.8 Plan Changes

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from the Subscription section of the mobile app (changes are applied through the App Store or Google Play). Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. When downgrading, features and resources exceeding your new plan's limits become read-only (you won't lose data, but you won't be able to create new items beyond the limit).

13.9 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' written notice via email. Price changes apply to the next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

14.2 Jurisdiction

Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
