Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: May 2026
1. Our Commitment
Havnwright is committed to making our website and contractor mobile app accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We recognise that good accessibility benefits all users, not only those with specific needs.
We work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This page describes what we currently do, what we know is not yet compliant, and how to get in touch.
2. What We Do
Across the platform we apply the following accessibility practices:
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, dialogs) are reachable and operable using the keyboard alone.
- Semantic markup: we use semantic HTML and the Radix UI primitives library, which provides accessible patterns for menus, dialogs, popovers, tabs, and other components by default.
- Form labels: form fields have visible labels and ARIA attributes where needed.
- Alternative text: meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked as such.
- Responsive design:layouts adapt to the user's viewport and respect text zoom up to 200%.
- Colour and meaning: we do not rely on colour alone to convey information (status, errors, and required fields use icons and text in addition to colour).
- Reduced motion: users who set a reduced-motion preference in their operating system see fewer non-essential animations.
3. Conformance Status
We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. As of the date at the top of this page, we consider Havnwright to be partially conformant: most of the platform meets the standard, and a number of specific areas are known to fall short. Those are listed below.
Per the W3C Understanding document for SC 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum), Level AA requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (defined as at least 18pt, or 14pt bold).
4. Known Issues
The following accessibility issues are on our radar:
- Primary call-to-action colour contrast: our coral CTA buttons (white text on the coral brand background) sit close to the WCAG AA threshold for normal-size text. We are reviewing the contrast ratio across our button sizes and will adjust either the shade of coral, the text weight, or the text size where needed.
- Comprehensive WCAG audit: we have not yet completed a full third-party WCAG 2.2 audit. We are working through automated audits (axe DevTools, Lighthouse) page by page and will publish results here as the work progresses.
- Some legacy components: a small number of older components may not yet meet our keyboard-navigation or focus-indicator standards. We are migrating these to the shared component library.
If you encounter an accessibility problem that is not listed above, please tell us (see section 6). Reports help us prioritise fixes.
5. Compatibility
Havnwright is designed to work with the latest two major versions of the following browsers on desktop and mobile:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
The platform is intended to be compatible with common assistive technologies including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), screen magnifiers, and voice-control software. If you find a specific incompatibility, please report it so we can address it.
6. Reporting Accessibility Problems
If you find an accessibility issue, or if you need information from Havnwright in a format that the platform does not currently provide, please contact us:
- Email: support@havnwright.com
- Contact form: havnwright.com/contact
- What helps us help you: the page URL, what you were trying to do, what happened, the browser and assistive technology you were using
- Response time: we aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days
7. Enforcement
If you contact us about an accessibility problem and you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice on the Equality Act 2010, which protects against disability discrimination by service providers in the UK.
8. How This Statement Was Prepared
This statement reflects our current understanding of Havnwright's accessibility status. It is based on a combination of internal review, automated accessibility testing tools, and feedback received from users. It will be updated as we make changes to the platform and as we complete additional audits.
