How do I add photos to a project?
Upload before, during and after photos and use them to track progress visually.
Photos are one of the most useful things to keep in a project: they prove condition before work started, document hidden issues found during the build, show finished quality, and back up warranty claims years later.
How to add photos
- Open your project.
- Click Photos (in the project tabs).
- Drag-and-drop one or more images, or click Upload.
- Photos appear in the gallery. You can tag each one as:
- Before (existing state)
- During (work in progress)
- After (finished)
- Snag (a defect to fix, see below)
- Optionally add a caption and date.
Where photos come from
- Phone camera roll (drag from your phone if you are on a laptop, or open Havnwright on your phone)
- Photos sent by your contractor on WhatsApp (save then upload)
- Survey photos from an inspection report
Limits and privacy
Photos are private to your account. We do not show them in the public inspiration gallery (those are curated stock images). There is no specific per-account photo cap today, but oversized originals are auto-resized to a reasonable resolution to keep things fast.
Tip
Take a "before" walk-around video of every room before any work starts. Save the still frames into the project's Photos. This single habit settles more disputes (about pre-existing damage, pre-existing decor, etc.) than anything else.

More in Photos, Snags & Documents
What is a snag list and how do I use it?
A snag list tracks every small defect you spot during and after a build, so the contractor can fix them before final payment.
Storing contracts, plans and certificates
The document vault is where every piece of paper a renovation generates lives. What to keep and why.
