9. Illegal Content and the Online Safety Act 2023
Havnwright hosts a read-only community forum containing historical user posts, and (in the contractor mobile app) content that contractors create for their own business use. The website does not currently accept new public user-generated content: forum posting is closed and there are no public upload features. Where user content exists, we take reasonable steps under the Online Safety Act 2023 to protect users from illegal content.
9.1 Prohibited Illegal Content
You must not post, upload, share, or distribute through Havnwright any content that is illegal under UK law, including (but not limited to):
- Child sexual abuse material
- Content promoting or facilitating terrorism or extremism
- Content inciting violence or hatred against a protected group
- Content that constitutes fraud or assists the commission of fraud (false invoices, scam offers, impersonation for financial gain)
- Threats to kill, harass, or seriously harm another person
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights you do not own or have a licence to share
- Content that breaches another person's privacy (intimate images shared without consent, personal data shared without lawful basis, doxxing)
- Goods or services that are illegal to sell or supply in the UK
9.2 How to Report Illegal Content
If you see content on Havnwright that you believe is illegal:
- Email: abuse@havnwright.com
- Please include: the location of the content (URL or forum thread), a brief explanation of why you believe it is illegal, and any supporting evidence
- Anonymous reports: we accept reports without requiring you to identify yourself, but a reachable email lets us update you on the outcome
9.3 Our Response
When we receive a credible report of illegal content:
- We aim to acknowledge the report within one business day
- We review the content and, if we determine it is illegal, remove it as quickly as is reasonably practicable
- Accounts found to have posted illegal content may be suspended or permanently terminated, depending on severity
- For the most serious categories (child sexual abuse material, terrorism content, credible threats to life), we will report to the relevant UK authorities, which may include the National Crime Agency (NCA), the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), or the police
9.4 Children's Access
Havnwright is not intended for users under 18, as set out in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If you believe a child has gained access to the platform, contact privacy@havnwright.com and we will take appropriate action.
9.5 Risk Assessment
We maintain an internal illegal-content risk assessment in line with Ofcom's guidance for user-to-user services. The assessment is reviewed periodically and whenever we make significant changes to the platform that could affect risk (for example, opening new user-generated-content surfaces). This page reflects the user-facing outputs of that assessment.

If you discover a security vulnerability:
- DO: Report it to security@havnwright.com, or use the contact form.
- DO: Refer to our machine-readable disclosure terms at /.well-known/security.txt.

We aim to acknowledge reports within 5 business days.
