How do I upload a quote I received?
Add a contractor quote to a project so it sits alongside your budget, scope and other quotes.
Quotes you have received (by email, PDF, paper, whatever) can be uploaded into a project so they are stored together, comparable side-by-side, and tied to your scope.
Steps
- Open the project the quote is for.
- Click Quotes → Add a quote.
- Fill in:
- Contractor name and contact details (optional but useful later).
- Total amount (in pounds, ex-VAT and inc-VAT if you have both).
- Date received (defaults to today).
- Validity (most quotes are valid 30 days, set if known).
- Upload the PDF or photo of the quote itself (drag-and-drop or click). We store the file securely; only you see it.
- Optionally add notes ("liked their attitude on site visit", "asked good questions", etc.).
- Save.
Once uploaded
The quote appears on your project's Quotes tab. From there you can:
- Open the original file at any time
- Edit any field (e.g. once you get the final agreed price)
- Mark a quote as Accepted, Declined, or Pending
- Use the comparison view to put quotes against each other
Tip
Add a quote as soon as you receive it, before you start negotiating. The original numbers are what you want for comparison. Once you start tweaking, you lose the baseline.
